The APS Homework Hotline

 

 

Solutions to your homework questions are no further than your telephone or computer.

The Atlanta Public Schools Homework Hotline provides homework assistance to K-12 students. Students are encouraged to call and ask questions about homework problems. APS teachers give one-on-one assistance and easy-to-understand explanations.

The Homework Hotline is available Monday through Thursday, 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, except during holiday and semester breaks. The Hotline telephone number is 404-827-8620 and the Website address is www.myhomeworkhotline.org.

Students should have the following items available when they call:


Textbook (if available)
Homework Assignment
Paper
Pen/Pencil
Calculator (if needed)

A student calling will be asked to give his/her first name, grade level and name of school, textbook title, and a description of the homework problem or assignment.

PROGRAM FOCUS:  Rose-Human Institute of Technology offers a FREE math and science tutoring service for Indiana middle and high school students.  The program reinforces math and science concepts and helps students develop better problem-solving skills.

STUDENTS SERVED:  Indiana students, grades 6 – 12

HOURS OF OPERATION  7 p.m. – 10 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time); Sunday – Thursday; September through May  (The Homework Hotline is closed during Rose-Hulman’s holiday and quarter breaks.)

PROGRAM FEES:  None.  The Homework Hotlines is a free community service.  Students and parents may call at no charge.

WHO’S ON THE OTHER END:  Tutors are college students from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.  Tutors, recommended by Rose-Hulman faculty, are selected for their technical knowledge and ability to communicate clearly.  Tutors have access to current math and science textbooks, computers, and the Internet.

NUMBER OF TUTORS:  More than 30 tutors are available to answer calls each night.
